There are several price points for purchasing the film — home use, institutional (academic/community organizations), screening (paid/free).
Home Use
$15 – Personal Use Only
That pretty much says it all! If you want to purchase the film to add to your home library, this is the option for you. The Black Girl Project may be purchased by individuals for personal home viewing with family and friends only. In licensing these home DVDs, the purchaser agrees to be contractually prohibited from screening The Black Girl Project during classroom instruction or as a public performance.
Institutional Use
If you are an educational institution or organization who wants to add The Black Girl Project DVD to your library, this is the option for you. Note: this isn’t a license for paid screenings, but includes use of the DVD for FREE public screenings.
$350 – Academic Institutions
This is for library/resource purposes as well hosting free screenings at your institution.
$100 – Non-profits and Community Organizations
This is for library/resource purposes as well hosting free screenings at your institution.
Screenings
Bring The Black Girl Project to a big screen near you. Buying a screening license gives you the right to publicly screen the film (normal DVDs don’t allow this). This helps support the cost of the film so more movies like this can be produced.
$200 – Free Public Screening
This is to host a screening at your school, local art house, church, office, co-working space, or pretty much anywhere that can handle a projected movie. The screening must be free for all to attend.
$500 – Public Screening – Admission Charged
If you want to charge admission this is the screening fee. Once you pay the fee you can keep all profit from ticket sales.
